About us

A company is the way it makes its decisions.

How we decide

The problem first, the technology after.

Every product starts from a difficulty someone actually has, described by the people who live with it daily rather than inferred from market research.

If the best answer to that problem is not software, we do not build it. That is why several promising ideas never became projects.

How we work

Few things, carried all the way.

We would rather have one product that works in every detail than three that almost work. A new company in the ecosystem starts only once the previous one stands on its own.

What we ship has to hold up for someone using it eight hours a day, not for the half hour of a demo.

Both rules are inconvenient: they stretch the timelines and cut down how much we make. They are also the only real difference between building useful technology and building technology.

The name

Vesta

What “Vesta” means.

The name Vesta comes from the Roman goddess of the hearth, the home and the community.

For us the meaning goes beyond mythology. If the world is our home, then every person is part of the same family.

That principle guides every decision the company makes. Technology is not developed only to generate profit, but to take care of our shared home.

VestaInnovation

Why “Innovation”.

Innovation stands for the continuous search for new solutions.

  • Not innovation for its own sake.
  • Innovation that improves human wellbeing.
  • Innovation that solves problems.
  • Innovation that makes possible what today seems impossible.
The philosophy

A company can hold two goals at once.

The first is to build excellent products. The second is to use the success of those products to create a positive impact on the world.

They are almost always presented as alternatives: either you make money, or you do good. In practice the second depends on the first. Without companies that stand up, there is nothing to give anyone.

Which means commercial rigour is not in tension with the mission: it is the condition for it. A mediocre product funds nothing.

Our values

Five principles. No exceptions.

Responsible innovation
People before profit
Clarity
Reliability
Ambition

01 / 05

Responsible innovation

Before building anything we ask what problem it solves. If the answer is “none, but it is interesting”, it stays an experiment and does not become a product.

02 / 05

People before profit

Profit lets the company exist, people are the reason it exists. When the two collide in an actual decision, we know which one gives way.

03 / 05

Clarity

Interfaces that need no training course, prices without asterisks, and saying plainly what a product cannot do as well as what it can.

04 / 05

Reliability

People work with our tools. A failure is not an inconvenience: it is a lost working day. That changes the order of development priorities.

05 / 05

Ambition

Goals that take years, held alongside the work of today. Think big without losing touch with people’s everyday problems.

Five principles. No exceptions.

For us, the world is home.

If you are building something that improves people’s lives, let’s talk.
